Shannon O’Rourke, Founder

Shannon O’Rourke is a passionate and dedicated Special Education Advocate with a strong commitment to ensuring that every child, regardless of their abilities or challenges, has access to a quality education. With years of experience and a deep understanding of the complex landscape of special education, she has become a tireless advocate for students, parents, and educators alike.

Areas of Expertise:

  • IEP Development: excels in crafting individualized education plans that are tailored to the specific needs and goals of each student.

  • Special Education Laws:  possesses a deep understanding of federal and state special education laws and regulations.

  • Conflict Resolution: skilled in mediating disputes and finding collaborative solutions between parents, schools, and districts.

Education and Training: Shannon holds both a juris doctor from Santa Clara University and masters degree in Special Education from St. John University, where she gained valuable knowledge and insights into the intricacies of special education laws, policies, and practices. Additionally, Shannon continually seeks professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with the evolving landscape of special education.

Advocacy Work: Shannon O’Rourke has a proven track record of advocating for students with special needs. They have successfully collaborated with parents, schools, and educational professionals to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) that meet the unique needs of each child. She  is known for their ability to navigate the often complex legal and bureaucratic systems to secure the necessary resources and services for students with disabilities.
